hi my name's lauren and i live in austin, tx. the live music capitol of the world. not that that matters.
anyway, i like all kinds of music, including rock, but there is no real rock out there anymore.
bossanova (gilberto) and jazz are both awesome. i really like world beat stuff and mexican/spanish rock&roll (gipsy kings, manu chao, cafe tacuba). soul (gil scott heron, maxwell), funk (parliament), and blues (taj mahal and many many others) are at the top of my list. and bluegrass and folk are pretty good too.
so i think this community is pretty cool cause i want to hear of some new bands, things i wouldn't find normally.
